The detained revolutionary rioters staged a riot, which was known as the "Red Stone Riot" in history. In 1955, the People's Government built a cemetery of martyrs and a monument to the martyrs in Maojialing. The monument was engraved with the nine characters "Revolutionary Martyrs Immortal" inscribed by Zhou Enlai. It was rebuilt in 1980 and the Revolutionary Martyrs Memorial Hall was established.
